And what are the most popular corners?
The truth is that it depends a lot on the couple’s background and their favorite dishes—as it should. Although some couples prefer to break with tradition, while others want nothing but the traditional dishes that everyone enjoys. As always, variety is the spice of life, and a mix of traditional and innovative dishes is the most common approach.IBERIAN HAM SLICED
Ham never fails, never, never..., who in their right mind doesn't like Iberian ham? Easy answer: To the vegans!!! It's the only kind of wedding where there isn't ham corner.MEJICANO
Another surefire choice is the Mexican food stand because the appetizers are delicious, the stand is very eye-catching, and most guests enjoy them. Seafood barbecue and pulpeiro (grilled octopus) are both highly regarded—either one or both, depending on whether the guests are big fans or from Galicia. Croquettes and tortillas are chosen quite often; the tortillas are served individually and made to order, and there are several different varieties.VERMOUTH AND PICKLES
One food station that’s becoming very popular at midday weddings is the vermouth and pickles station—it’s very original, which is why the bride and groom find it fun. Asian and sushi stations are only chosen if the bride and groom love this type of food. Otherwise, they don’t dare to include them—which makes sense. Rice dishes and soups aren’t usually chosen because, for a wedding, people prefer other options with more flair. But there’s more… in Artigot Catering We’ll tailor the food station to whatever the bride and groom want—we’ve done vegetarian stations, stations featuring Castilian stews, stations with torreznos… Anyway, it’s their day, and the bride and groom are in charge! Oh! I almost forgot. As a complimentary service at no extra cost, during the cocktail hour we offer a beer station (served in large bowls—the choice 90% of the time) or a mojito and strawberry daiquiri bar. And if the ceremony is held on the estate itself, we set up a lemonade station (or consommé in the winter). The idea is to keep refreshing the selection of stations, phasing out the less popular ones and trying new things. The truth is that many people say they can’t eat anymore after this first part, but since we start with a sorbet as soon as they sit down—and there are waiting periods during the bride and groom’s entrance, the gift-giving, the speeches, etc.—by the time the sirloin arrives, it just goes down easily. It’s all very well thought out, to be honest—that’s why our weddings are so successful.Continue reading
